There are 4 battle types in Shattered Galaxy Make sure you know what type of battle you are in!
The defending faction starts with possession of all pocs. If the attackers at any point gain control of all pocs, they win the battle. If they do not, the faction which owns the majority of the pocs when the battle ends by time will win. In the case of a tie, the defenders will win.
All or Nothing
Similar to standard, but the attackers require all pocs to win and a majority will not suffice. These maps make excellent maps to sit in but not necessary excellent maps to defend.
Follows the Standard rules, but the defender can also end the battle early by possessing all pocs. Since the defenders will start with all pocs in their possession, the attackers are given 5 minutes to obtain a poc at the beggining of the battle.After 10:00 if the attacker do not have at least 1 poc they lose.
Point-based battle. All pocs start neutral and each faction has 800 points. A faction's points will rise with every player that reinforces. Two points are lost for every unit that dies. More importantly, points are lost constantly if your faction owns less pocs than the opposing faction. How fast the points decrease depends on how many less pocs you have. During the first 3 minutes of battle, unit deaths are worth double and poc ownage doesn't count. During the last 3 minutes, poc ownage counts extra. Note that POCs don't affect your ticks until 10:00.
