Basic Controls

Basic controls for Shattered Galaxy battles follow the click and point protocol. Once a unit or group of unit is selected, commands are issued by clicking on icons, or using hotkeys and clicking on a target.

Selecting Units
Left click on a single unit. A status box will appear down the left or right side of the screen depending on the units position in the team. Position 1 to 6 down the left side and position 7 to 12 down the right side. The unit will show its "Health Ring", a rainbow colored indicator to show the amount of health the unit has left. Mouse pointer over any unit will show two bars. The top green bar for Energy and the lower yellow bar for Health.

Hold the left mouse button down and drag the dotted box across the units you wish to select. Hit the backspace key to select all your units.

Movement in Battle
1. Select unit or units.
2. Right click the location you want your units to move to. Moving units in this fashion will set them with a one track mind of getting to their destination. They will ignore enemy units that fire upon them until they reach their destination. Once they reach their destination, they will remain there until they are fired upon or encounter an enemy. If they are fired upon or see an enemy, they will engage the enemy.

OR

1. Select unit or units.
2. Click on the "move" icon OR press the "M" button.
3. Left-click the location you want your units to move to. Moving units in this fashion will also set them with a one track mind of getting to their destination. They will ignore enemy units that fire upon them until they reach their destination. Once they reach their destination, they will remain there until they are fired upon or encounter an enemy. If they are fired upon or see an enemy, they will engage the enemy.

OR

ATTACK MOVE
1. Select unit or units.
2. Click on the "attack object" icon OR press the "A" button.
3. Left-click the location you want your units to move to. Moving units in this fashion will have them automatically engage any enemies they meet on the road to their destination.

Stopping
The ability to have your units "stop" is an extremely important part of Shattered Galaxy. Almost all units by default are set to engage or retreat from an enemy when in their normal state. This means that they will MOVE from their current location if an enemy come within range of that unit. If you wish for your unit to remain in place, you MUST use the "STOP" command. The STOP command will still allow your unit to fire upon other units that come within firing range. The STOP command prevents the units from chasing after the enemy unit if that unit exits the firing range. This is extremely important when capturing a PoC to prevent your units from accidentally wandering off the PoC during a PoC capture.

1. Select unit or units
2. Click on the "stop" icon OR press the "S" button.
